If you have decided to install a fireplace in your home, you are probably considering the many options available. In order to determine whether a vent free fireplace is the right choice for you, you will want to know how it works.

The way a vent free gas fireplace works it what gives the fireplace its marketable features. The fireplace is not like a traditional fireplace that has a chimney or other ducting for air flow. The fireplace uses gas as fuel and doesn’t create a “real” flame. In order to have this type of fireplace without venting, your home will need to have a gas line. The fireplace also uses some air from the room as fuel for the fire. Although it doesn’t produce an authentic flame, the reaction still produces substantial heat, enough to be an additional source of heat to a room. The way a vent free fireplace works allows you to turn the fire on with the flip of a switch or push of a button.

Vent free gas fireplaces aren’t without controversy. Some people feel they are not a safe option, and there are some states that have outlawed their use and installation. The reason their safety is questioned is the byproducts from the combustion. This includes carbon monoxide. Those who argue that a vent free gas option is safe insist that vent free fireplace logs combust all but a negligible amount of any dangerous byproducts, because of the high heat they produce.

Because vent free fireplaces work the way they do, they require less maintenance than standard fireplaces. One of the biggest relieve of maintenance comes because there is no chimney or ducting to maintain. You don’t have to worry about it becoming clogged, or having to clean it out at regular intervals. Cleaning of your unit will be minimal. You should make sure that your gas line is working properly. In addition, vent free gas fireplaces have Oxygen Depletion Sensors (ODS), which turn off the gas before any dangerous level of carbon monoxide is reached. You should check routinely to be sure the ODS in your fireplace is working properly.

If you already have a traditional fireplace you can still go vent free. A vent free fireplace insert can be installed in already existing masonry from a traditional fireplace.

Ventless fireplaces aren’t all fueled by gas, although that is the most common option. There are also fireplaces fueled with gel. Each gel can burns for about three hours. This type of fireplace is designed for looks and not heat output. If you are looking for a vent free option with the most heat output, this isn’t the type for you. Other fireplaces that don’t require venting are electric.

If your home doesn’t already have natural gas, and you want a gas fueled fireplace, you may want to consider propane fireplaces. They are one of the many fireplace options available to you.

Propane is a reliable source of heat. If you experience a power outage, you can be assured that your fireplace will still work, and provide you with some heat. A propane fireplace heats very quickly. Another benefits of propane as a fuel is that it is cleaner burning that a wood burning fire. This can be especially important if you are trying to be more environmentally conscious.

So you are sold on propane, there are still a few types of propane fireplaces you may choose to install in your home. The type you choose depends on what already exists in your home and your other needs. If you have an existing wood burning fireplace, but you want to convert it to gas you have two options. You may choose to have a professional install a propane gas log to burning in the existing masonry, you or may choose a propane insert.

Propane fireplace inserts are designed to be place in your existing fireplace. The insert is a shell surrounding a firebox, which contains the propane log. Of course you will need to make sure the fireplace has a source of propane to function properly. Some models also require electricity, for convenience, only for the starter on the unit. These also have a manual option, so you won’t ever be stuck without a fire.

There is a way to have a propane gas fireplace without having a chimney, or even any ducting. A vent free propane fireplace doesn’t require venting. This means it can be installed anywhere in your home, as long as there is propane to fuel the unit. The vent free option will use air from the room and the propane to produce a flame. This is a very heat efficient option as there is no chimney to lose heat. When buying a fireplace like this, the mantel and cabinetry can be included in the purchase. You can find various styles to suit your taste.

Maybe you aren’t looking to install a fireplace inside your home. An outdoor propane fireplace can provide a lot of fun to a backyard or other outdoor area. It gives a warm place for people to congregate for socializing or relaxing. Many of these fireplaces are designed more like fire pits. This allows for more people to gather around the fire. It is usually the least expensive of the outdoor varieties. Consider how you will get the propane to the fire. You may have to pipe from a large propane tank a distance away from the unit, or some model have small propane tanks dedicated only to fuel the fireplace.

What if you could bring your fireplace with you wherever you went? A portable fireplace makes that possible. Portable fireplaces are great because they can be moved to whatever location you want to enjoy the ambience of a fireplace. They require no installation, and very little maintenance. Some of these fireplaces are designed for indoor and outdoor use. All you need is a flat surface on which to place the unit. The floor, a table, or a deck are some of the places you may enjoy it.

A portable outdoor fireplace is a great thing to have. Get the fire roaring and sit around the fire anywhere in the great outdoors you choose. These outdoor types are often referred to as fire pits. There are various shapes, like domes, cylinders, or cubes. They are often made of cast iron or sometimes copper. Many are on wheels for increased mobility. The type of fuel is usually wood for this kind of fireplace. You need to be cautious where you use this type of fireplace. Do not use to close to combustible materials.

One of the most common fuels a portable fireplace uses is gel. These gel cans generally burn for two to three hours. They do not emit a large amount of heat. The gel cans are usually sold separately. Fireplaces that use gels are generally smaller, and can be carried easily. Some are described as “table-top” fireplaces, indicating how small they really are. There are a number of trendy options available when it comes to a gel-fueled fireplace.

Another portable option is electric. A portable electric fireplace is generally designed for indoor use. Most include mantels and cabinetry, although there are stove models available. These look more like a conventional fireplace. In contrast to gel fuels, the electric models emit enough heat to warm a 400 square foot room. This option is not as easily transported as some of the other portable choices available. A portable indoor fireplace like this can be a stunning addition to a home. There are many different styles available. Whether you prefer the look of a stained or painted wood, or if you would rather have a stone fireplace, you can find the style right for you. These are great because unlike traditional fireplaces, they require no vented and there is very little maintenance.

You may also be interested in a portable fireplace heater. Most of these are designed to look like a wood stove. Those that are powered by electricity provide quick fan-forced heat. It works very much like a space-heater, but you get to enjoy the look of a fireplace. There are faux logs and an imitation flame that look pretty realistic. The glass window will remain cool even while the unit is in use. This means you don’t have to worry about any little ones or pets burning themselves.

If you have an extra chill in one of your rooms, or if you are just looking for some extra heat, a fireplace heater might fulfill your needs. They can provide additional warm to a room, while making it feel cozier, and while adding style. You may also find your existing fireplace is not efficient heat. Whatever your circumstance, consider purchasing a fireplace heater. There are several types available.

And electric fireplace heater is a popular and reasonable option. Electricity is easily accessible, and that makes this type of heater reasonable for any person. All you need is a standard electrical outlet. It avoids the potential problem of a gas fireplace, and if you don’t have gas in your home, you don’t have to make any updates.

Another reason electric fireplace heaters are popular is their portability. Unlike standard fireplaces, they don’t have a chimney or any other kind of venting; this allows you to move the unit freely. You can be sure when you purchase a fireplace like this that you will be able to use it for years, even if your future includes moving. That more than you can say for a traditional fireplace.

The great thing is that you don’t have to sacrifice beauty for all this convenience. The artificial flame may not look quite as realistic as the real thing, but they still provide the cozy atmosphere you expect from a fireplace. You can choose from heaters that have the cabinet look of a traditional fireplace, or heaters that look like wood stoves.

Amish fireplaces heaters are an increasingly common option. The Amish make the cabinetry of the unit, which is where the unit gets its name. It provides the look of a fireplace without the hassle of installing a traditional one. The cost of the unit is much less than installing a standard fireplace in your home, but isn’t the cheapest option available.

Another type of heater is one designed for those who already have an existing fireplace. This type of heater is place in the existing masonry of the fireplace. A fireplace grate heater increases the efficiency of a traditional fireplace. It does this by holding the logs of your fire which increases are circulation. Most of these types of heaters also have a blower that helps blow the heated air into the room. You will need to have access to electricity for the blower function to work on the heater.

The design element is what elevates the cost of a fireplace heater. If you are looking for additional heat, but not the design element, a heater like these may not be for you. You may instead want to consider purchasing a space heater. They will still provide additional heat, but don’t provide any sort of aesthetically pleasing features.

Fireplace glass can be used as only a protective element of your fireplace, or can be used to add beauty to your ensemble. Your fireplace may just have tempered glass door that have no adornment or decoration. Some people prefer it this way. It may also be that if the glass were decorated it would distract from other design elements of the room. But, if you would rather have something more, you can replace the doors, or your fireplace screen with something that has a little more visual interest.

You may have a fireplace that never had glass doors. You can choose to install glass doors on your fireplace if you wish. They can provide safety, and also protect your home from drafts when the fireplace is not in use. You may also need to replace existing doors on a fireplace if they have become broken, or stopped functioning properly. Many doors available have both a glass, and screen door. Be sure the dimensions of the doors fit the opening of your fireplace before purchasing.

Fireplace glass screens are generally made of three panels, although you kind find some with four. These panels fold and allow the screen to stand alone. For a wood-burning fireplace, the screen should stand three to four inches above the opening of the fireplace. These protect you and your floor from any sparks or flame that may pop out of the fireplace. These screens should be made from tempered glass if you plan on using them to protect you from the fire. Although a screen is functional, and can provide safety, they can also provide beauty.

A stained glass fireplace screen can add a lot of beauty to your fireplace. There are stunning designs available. The glass is generally enclosed in steel framing. You will want the glass you choose to complement the fireplace and the rest of the room. These stained glass fireplace screens can range in price from one hundred to two thousand dollars. Many of these screens are for decorative purposes only. Be sure if you need the screen for functionality, you buy the appropriate screen.

Whether the glass on your fireplace is part of a decorative screen or on the doors of the fireplace themselves, you’ll need to clean it. There are several different ways of cleaning fireplace glass. Before cleaning the glass however, you should check the manufacturer’s directions to make sure you follow the proper procedure. This is especially important if the glass is still under warranty. You wouldn’t want to void your warranty by cleaning the glass improperly. One tip for however you choose to clean the glass is to do it regularly. The less buildup there is on the glass, the easier it will be to clean.

One method is to use household ammonia. This may do the trick, and isn’t an expensive option. Or you may choose to use an ammonia based cleaner. Some recommend using oven cleaner.

If you don’t have ammonia on hand, you can actually use the ashes from the fire. Wad a piece of newspaper into a ball and get it damp with water, then dip it into the ashes and use to clean the glass. The ash helps remove soot from the door. This method can take more time and work than ammonia.

A last resort can be to scrape caked on layers of soot with a flat razor blade. If you choose this options be very careful! You don’t want to scratch the surface of the glass.

If you are a homeowner whose home doesn’t have a fireplace, you’ve likely wondered how you could reasonably install one. A direct vent fireplace is a great option for someone who wants a fireplace in his or her home but doesn’t have a traditional fireplace with a chimney. They can also be a good option for someone with a traditional fireplace, but we’ll talk more about that later.

Direct vent fireplaces don’t require a standard chimney. Instead they are directly vented to the outside through a wall. This wall has to be external. This is the one of the only limiting factors to where you can install the fireplace. The fireplace uses the venting to get air to fuel the fire, and also to allow the byproducts of combustion to escape. This direct vent method is more affordable than constructing an entire chimney.

A direct vent gas fireplace doesn’t require constant maintenance like a wood burning fire does. Once the fireplace is on, it stays on. No tending to the fire, it takes care of itself. Because its form of fuel is gas, it also requires less cleanup.

One of the things that make a fireplace so desirable is the fire itself. Just because you are sacrificing a real fire doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice the look and feel of a fire. The gas log of the fireplace imitates a real fire. There is no way to exactly replicate a wood burning fire, but direct vent fireplaces have come a long way in the appearance of the flame. They are much more authentic than they used to be a few years ago. The flame can usually be viewed from the front of the fire. The fire not only looks warm, but it provides heat output as well.

One of the reasons this is a popular option for a fireplace is because of its heat efficiency. The fireplace is much more efficient than a traditional wood burning fireplace. Most of these fireplaces have blowers to help push the heat into the room. Direct vent gas fireplaces are a great way to provide additional heat to a room.

A direct vent gas fireplace insert is a great option for someone who has an existing fireplace, but want to increase its efficiency. The insert can be placed in the existing masonry with the venting going inside the chimney. Installation is especially easy if the fireplace you had before was gas. You will need to have access to a gas line to properly fuel the direct vent fireplace insert. You may require the assistance of a professional when installing the insert.

A direct vent fireplace is an affordable option. You can find models less than five hundred dollars. Also consider that maintenance is minimal and should cost very little in the lifetime of the fireplace.

There is a way array of options if you decide you want to purchase an electric fireplace. One of your options is a Dimplex Electric Fireplace.

First, let’s start with some background information on Dimplex. Dimplex is a worldwide company that has been around for years. It has helped in the progress of electric heating and products. The electric fireplace was first invented by Dimplex. They have since remained a reliable name in electric fireplaces. Dimplex doesn’t sell their products directly to consumer, but through retailers throughout North America.

An electric fireplace is plugged into a standard household electrical outlet. There is very little maintenance involved. In two or three years after use, you will need to purchase replacement light bulbs. These should easily be found at your preferred home improvement store.

One feature that is unique to the Dimplex electric fireplace is the simulated flame itself. The company has a patented 3D effect in their fireplaces. This gives the flame a more authentic look with greater depth. Because there is no combustion, the glass in front of the flame will remain cool to the touch. You needn’t be worried your child or pet will burn himself or herself while the fireplace is in use.

Dimplex electric fireplaces come in a lot of different styles and finishes. In addition to woods finishes like Cherry, Oak, Pecan, Walnut and Espresso (to name only a few), you can also find fireplaces that have a stone-look. There are two stone-look products available, the Mason Electric Fireplace, and the Fieldstone Electric Fireplace. The Mason provides a sleeker, contemporary look, while the Fieldstone looks more rustic. The fireplaces that include the mantle and cabinetry vary in cost. The lowest in price is around $250, or you can spend upwards of $2000. It all depends on your budget, and what you are looking for.

Another great option Dimplex offers are corner fireplaces. A Dimplex corner fireplace is great because of their space efficient design. If you live in a smaller home, or apartment, or just want to optimize space, this is a good option to consider.

A Dimplex electric fireplace insert can be used in masonry or steel fireplaces. If you have a fireplace of this type already, but would like to update it to be electric, and insert is a great option for you. Like other Dimplex fireplace products, you can operate the flame and heat independently of each other. This allows you to use the product year round. If you are using the unit for heat though, you can be sure that it is effective heat. The standard insert supplies supplemental heat for rooms up to 400 square feet. The inserts also come with remote controls for convenience.

Dimplex electric fireplace inserts are affordable. You can find the Dimplex df12409 electric fireplace insert for around $180, a very reasonable price for a fireplace. Not only is the cost of the unit very reasonable, but the cost to run it is as well. It is estimated that the cost to run the unit with the heater is only 8 cents per hour, while running it with only the flame is around 3 cents per hour. The cost is the same for any other Dimplex electric fireplace.

You may think you are limited in your options if you are short on space or have an oddly shaped room where you would like to install a fireplace. A corner gas fireplace can be a great solution to this problem, and you still have a lot of options available to you. A corner fireplace is a great way to utilize the space available to you. You can find fireplaces that sit back into the corner, or those that designed to be installed in corners that protrude out.

Corner gas fireplaces are great, especially if you already have a gas line in your home. You may already be lucky enough to have a chimney and corner fireplace gas in your home. If this is you, your fireplace may benefit from a new mantel, or fireplace doors. There are many ways you can spruce up an old fireplace. A simple cleaning can sometimes be enough for you to be satisfied with your fireplace again.

A direct vent corner gas fireplace can be a really great option, as long as you are planning on installing the fireplace on an outer wall. This is because the fireplace gets the air it needs, and releases the byproducts it produces through a vent that goes directly from the fireplace outside, through an outer wall of your home. This type of fireplace can also be found in insert form, so it can be placed in an existing fireplace.

One type you may also want to consider is a corner ventless gas fireplace. If you don’t already have a chimney, this could be a more affordable option for you. Theses types of fireplaces don’t require any venting. This makes them easy to install, and less costly than many other types of fireplaces. The fireplace uses the air from the room, and the gas from your line to fuel the fire. The flame burns hot enough that it combusts any fumes that could be dangerous. Just in case though, all fireplaces of this variety are equipped with Oxygen Depletion Sensors, that let you know if the oxygen levels have become too low in the room.

After determining what type of fireplace you are going to get, you may find yourself deciding which fireplace to buy based on the design of the corner gas fireplace mantel. Mantels come in all different styles, all of which are available on a corner gas fireplace. There are modern, traditional and antique styles available.

Don’t get discouraged if you think the space or shape of your room doesn’t allow for a fireplace. You may be surprised how well a corner gas fireplace will fit in your home. They provide the elegance of a traditional fireplace without taking up all the space.

A corner electric fireplace can be a great addition to any home. They are versatile in placement and help you make the most of the space you have in your home. If you are looking to add some warmth and character to your living space, a fireplace is a great solution. A few years ago you may have had few choices if you were limited to placing your fireplace in or on a corner. Now there are all sorts and types and styles of fireplaces to choose from.

Firstly, when there are other fuels available, why should you decide from one of the many electric corner fireplaces available? Accessibility is one reason. Electricity is readily accessible. All you need to install this type of fireplace is a standard electrical outlet.

Another reason is cost. In addition to the cost of the unit itself being reasonably priced, electricity is relatively cheap. It may cost you only a few cents an hour to run your fireplace.

They also provide efficient warmth to your home. What’s a fireplace without some warmth? The flames aren’t the same as that of a wood-burning fire, but they still look realistic, and add to the ambience of the room.

Maintenance is yet another plus. A corner electric fireplace requires little maintenance. Every couple of years you will need to replace the light bulbs that give your fireplace its “flame.” Not only does the unit require very little maintenance, but you also don’t have to maintain a wood-burning fire. No collecting and storing firewood. All of these things make electric the ultimate in convenience when choosing a corner fireplace.

A white corner electric fireplace is a popular choice. It’s goes with various types of décor. You can find beautiful fireplaces, with columns and crown moldings for an upscale look. Or you may be interested in a more compact look that even includes a storage drawer. This is the ultimate in space efficiency.

A black corner electric fireplace can be a more modern looking option. Although there are fewer options available, black fireplaces can be found without too much difficulty. Black can be found in metal and painted wood designs. Metal provides a more contemporary look to a room.

Corner electric fireplaces come in styles for every taste. Dimplex is a good place to start when it comes to buying electric. It’s a very reliable name in the electric fireplace business. A dimplex corner electric fireplace can be found in several styles.

A corner electric fireplace is a great choice if you are concerned about space, or if you just want a good-looking fireplace. Don’t forget to utilize the space on the mantel as well. You may be surprised at the things you can do with it. One of increasingly common thing to do it put a television on top of, or mounted above the mantel.

If you want to update your home with a beautiful fireplace, but think it can’t be an affordable option for you, you’re wrong! You can find a cheap electric fireplace that will suit your entire fireplace needs.

Why do people buy fireplaces? People buy them in order to increase the beauty of their home, and to provide heat. An electric fireplace can fulfill both those desires. All electric fireplaces provide heat, and most provide enough heat to warm up to a 400 square foot room. There is a large selection of fireplaces available. You will surely be able to find a fireplace that matches your personal style, and the style of your home.

All electric fireplaces share some of the same benefits. They can be installed just about anywhere you want. This is because the only thing they need to run properly is electricity. All you need is a standard electrical outlet. You don’t have to worry about the hassle of firewood. There is very little maintenance involved. They are portable, so if you move, or decide you want the fireplace in a different room it can be done so easily. Ease of assembly and installation are also perks. And they are inexpensive to purchase and to use.

Although there are some more costly options out there, cheap electric fireplaces aren’t difficult to find. A quick search on the Internet will reveal the many options available to you. After deciding a budget, you should decide what type of fireplace you want. Do you want something more traditional, or would you rather have something more contemporary. Do you want the look of a conventional fireplace, or would you rather have it look like a wood stove? If you trying to match a finish of furniture you already have in your home, you should be able to do so without too much difficulty. You can find a cheap electric fireplace in oak, mahogany, espresso, and cherry to name a few. If wood isn’t your style, and you don’t want a stove-look, you can even find one with a faux stone surround.

The least expensive option is probably to purchase a cheap electric fireplace insert. The reason this is least expensive is because you aren’t paying for any type of mantle or cabinetry. Cheap electric fireplace inserts are designed to be place in existing masonry or steel fireplaces. This means you will have to have an existing fireplace for this purchase to work for you. They can be quickly installed and voila, your fireplace has been updated.

Not only is this type of fireplace inexpensive to buy, but also they are also very cheap to run. Running your cheap electric fireplace heater with heat and flame shouldn’t cost more than 11 cents an hour, not matter what unit you choose to purchase. If you are running the unit without heat it will cost even less! If cost is your main concern, consider going electric. You may be surprised at the selection available to you.
